IO: Olio colato
Extra virgin olive oil tasting plate
Registered design 2012
The project wants to enhance the extra virgin olive oil as a precious element. The dish allows a raw oil-based course remnants to be conveyed to the centre, thanks to the slightly sloping profile.
The oil tasting plate deliberately makes polite and evident the habit, from which we commonly hold back, of mopping up the oil leftovers with bread, reinventing and enhancing this gesture.
Simply white, through the only graphic sign of a golden ring that marks the hollow, the plate refers to the ingredient preciousness, emphasizing the central oil and transforming it from residue to precious center of the project.
Also the naming IO refers to the remaining part of the italian word Olio.
